Biography

Peter Cameron is the Academic Director of The Alfred Emergency and Trauma Centre and Professor of Emergency and Divisional Head at Medicine at Monash University Public Health

He has made extraordinary contributions to emergency medicine and critical research in Australasia over many years and has attracted over 20 million dollars in competitive research grants throughout his career.

Peters’ research efforts have been broad but particular interests include trauma, cardiac arrest and sepsis management.

He is also on the editorial board of four journals, reviews articles for many others and co authored the Australasian Textbook of Adult Emergency Medicine and Textbook of Paediatric Emergency Medicine.

Peter is a multiply awarded speaker has presented meetings around the globe and was a member of the DevelopingEM faculty in 2012.

He has held multiple positions within both the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and the International Federation for Emergency Medicine including being President of both organisations.

Peter has mentored many many students of emergency medicine around the world through to specialist qualification and beyond.
