Biography

Rebecca is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine. She studied International Studies and Global Public Health Leadership at the University of North Carolina, and completed a fellowship in International Emergency Medicine and Global Health at Stanford.
Rebecca’s academic focus is on the development of international emergency care systems and the outcome of emergent conditions in vulnerable populations.
She has worked in systems development for health provider education and prehospital emergency systems in Nepal, Cambodia, Myanmar, Ethiopia, India, and Peru.
At Stanford, she directs the scholarship of physician leaders from abroad through Stanford’s International Visiting Scholar Program and teaches undergraduate courses on social determinants of health.
