Biography
Dr. Taillac is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery and the Division of Emergency Medicine and an Attending Physician in the Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. He serves as the Utah State EMS Medical Director for the the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness, Utah Department of Health. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. His areas of interest and expertise are in EMS (prehospital care), EMS education, EMS and trauma systems development, disaster preparedness, hemorrhage control, cardiac arrest, and time-critical illnesses and injuries.
He has taught Emergency Medicine in several countries, including Ghana, Morocco, and India. He has been an invited speaker at multiple U.S. and international conferences.
In India, he has developed the EMT and Paramedic Programs for Fortis Escorts Cardiac Institute in New Delhi. He has twice been an invited speaker at the All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIMS) Annual EMS Conference. He helped develop and execute a Ward Boy training program for Baroda Medical College in Gujarat. Most recently, he has partnered with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore to develop and implement an Emergency Care and Life Support training program for the graduating interns and rural Indian physicians in Karnataka, designed to teach essential lifesaving skills to those working in Primary and Community Health Centers.
