Biography

Shweta is an Emergency Medicine Consultant at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Hospital, London and an Adjunct Faculty at the Ronald Regan Institute of International Emergency Medicine at George Washington University, USA.

She went to medical school at GS Medical College/King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India and then moved to the UK to complete her core training in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care in the Manchester region.

Shweta then completed her higher training in EM in London and achieved her Fellowship from the Royal College Emergency Medicine and a Fellowship in Patient Safety at the Centre for Patient Safety and Service Quality at Imperial College, London in 2012 before taking up her Consultant role in the National Health Service (NHS) in London.

She has been actively involved in EM education and capacity building in India for the last 7 years.

For the last 7 years she has also been part of the core faculty for the GWU-India Masters in Emergency Medicine (MEM), which is now delivered across 11 major cities and smaller towns in India.

Shweta is interested in international emergency medicine capacity development with a focus on education, EM curriculum development, injury prevention, patient safety and the nodal role of EM in country specific public health systems.
