John Serra

John is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of California San Diego Medical Center in San Diego, California, United States. He serves as the EMS Medical Director for the City of Chula Vista California as well as Medical Director for Southwestern California Rural/Metro Ambulance Corporation. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. His areas of interest and expertise are in EMS (prehospital care), Special Events Medicine, EMS education and GIS (Geographic Information Systems). Dr. Serra is the Education Committee Chairperson for the National Association of EMS Physicians.
