Biography
Michael is an Emergency physician based in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
He is also a Clinical Toxicologist and works as part of the consultant staff of the Hunter Area Toxicology service as well as the New South Wales poisons information service.
Michael has been involved in teaching in Sri Lanka for several years as an instructor on the Emergency Life Care course. Earlier this year he was also involved with running the inaugural 2 day ‘Toxic issues in the ED–Sri Lanka’
Toxicology course for Sri Lankan EM trainees along with colleagues from Australia.
Michael is an associate researcher with the Clinical Toxicology Research Group, based at the University of Newcastle and has a particular research interest in the management of acute behavioural disturbance in the ED.
In addition to teaching trainees in Emergency medicine, he is also involved with teaching toxicology fellows on the Australian Toxicology masters programme.
